What is beef tallow? Our beef tallow is made from rendered suet (kidney fat) sourced from local cattle. We make it in-house in small batches, using a heating and filtering process to eliminate impurities and ensure the highest quality. The result is a solid fat that can be used for both cooking and cosmetics. Our cooking tallow is a natural & organic alternative to cooking oil, perfect for sautéing, frying, roasting, grilling, and more! Tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, & K, along with essential fatty acids, which deeply nourish & moisturize the skin & hair. Its natural composition closely mimics the skin's own oils, making it an amazing choice for restoring the skin barrier.
-
What is the shelf life of tallow? How do I store tallow? Our tallow products are naturally shelf-stable for 12-14 months when stored in a cool, dry place. Keep products out of direct sunlight and store them at room temperature or below. If any oil product separates, simply shake it gently before each use. If your tallow becomes too soft, place it in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm it up again. Since we don't use preservatives, emulsifiers, or stabilizers, it's essential to avoid contamination from dirty hands or water. To determine the expiration date, we recommend referencing the date of purchase. All our products are handmade in small batches, crafted close to their shipping dates to ensure freshness.
-
Product Care & SustainabilityOur products are free from preservatives and stabilizers. Exposure to high temperatures may cause the product to melt and may result in minimal leakage. This is completely normal and does not affect the quality of the product. If any separation occurs, simply stir the product and store it in a cool place. All of our products are handmade in small batches, so slight variations in packaging, color, or texture may occur due to sourcing or seasonal changes. We encourage you to reuse or recycle our glass jars.

Why grass-fed & grass finished?Just like all animals (and humans), cattle store fat-soluble substances, including certain toxins, in their fat cells. While most toxins are processed and eliminated by the liver and kidneys, fat cells can retain environmental toxins such as pesticides (including glyphosate), heavy metals, and other harmful chemicals, particularly if the cattle are exposed through their diet or environment. This is why grass-fed and grass-finished cattle are often preferred—they are less likely to be exposed to these chemicals, which results in cleaner, more nutritious fat that benefits both the skin and body. In contrast, commercially raised cattle are more likely to encounter toxins due to their diet, environment, and farming practices.

-
Do beeswax candles have a scent?Yes! Beeswax candles have a natural, subtle honey-like aroma, but they do not contain artificial fragrances.

-
Do beeswax candles burn longer than other candles?Yes! Beeswax candles burn slower and cleaner than paraffin or soy candles, making them last much longer.
-
Why do beeswax candles burn so cleanly?Beeswax has a higher melting point, which means it burns brighter, cleaner, and with little to no soot or smoke when the wick is properly trimmed.
-
How do I get the best burn from my beeswax candle?Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn. Allow the candle to burn long enough to create a full melt pool to prevent tunneling. Keep away from drafts for an even burn.
-
Why does my beeswax candle have a white coating? This is called bloom—a natural effect of pure beeswax. It’s harmless and can be wiped off or buffed away with a soft cloth for a polished look.
-
Are beeswax candles safe for people with allergies or asthma?Yes! Beeswax candles burn without toxins or synthetic fragrances, making them a great choice for those sensitive to artificial scents or chemicals.
-
Do you use local beeswax?Of course! We exclusively source our beeswax from local producers, as we are committed to supporting our community and using only the finest ingredients.
-
Do beeswax candles purify the air?Beeswax candles release negative ions that help neutralize pollutants, dust, and allergens in the air, improving indoor air quality.
-
Are beeswax candles eco-friendly?Yes! Beeswax is a renewable, biodegradable resource, and our candles are made without harmful additives, making them a sustainable choice.
-
How should I store my beeswax candles?Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent softening or warping.
-
Can beeswax candles melt in hot weather?Yes, beeswax has a high melting point, but extreme heat (over 90°F/32°C) can soften or warp the candle. Store in a temperature-controlled area.
-
Do beeswax candles repel insects?Yes! The subtle honey scent naturally helps repel mosquitoes and other bugs, making them great for outdoor use.
-
Do you add anything to your beeswax candles? Our beeswax candles are 100% pure, with no added chemicals, synthetic fragrances, or dyes.
-
Do beeswax candles drip? When burned properly in a draft-free area, beeswax candles do not drip. However, improper wick length or drafts can cause uneven burning.
-
DisclaimerPlease read and follow all safety guidelines when using our candles to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Always burn candles on a heat-resistant, stable surface and away from flammable objects. Never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of children or pets. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use to prevent excessive smoke and uneven burning. Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time. Keep candles away from drafts, vents, and air currents to avoid uneven burning or excessive flickering. Discontinue use when ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom to prevent overheating or glass breakage. What makes sourdough different from regular bread?Sourdough is naturally leavened with a wild yeast and bacteria culture (starter) instead of commercial yeast, giving it a tangy flavor, chewy texture, and longer shelf life.
-
Does sourdough contain yeast?Yes, but it’s wild yeast from the starter, not commercial yeast. This natural fermentation process helps develop its unique flavor and texture.
-
Is sourdough gluten-free?No, sourdough contains gluten. However, the fermentation process may help break down some gluten, making it easier to digest for some individuals—but it is not safe for those with celiac disease.
-
How do I store sourdough bread?Keep it in a paper or cloth bag at room temperature for 3-5 days. You can also keep it in a Beeswax Wrap for 1-3 weeks. Avoid plastic bags, as they trap moisture and can make the crust soft. For long-term storage, freeze slices or loaves in an airtight bag.
-
Can I refrigerate sourdough bread? It’s not recommended. Refrigeration can dry out the bread and alter its texture. Instead, freeze for longer storage.
-
How long does sourdough last? When stored in a paper or cloth bag at room temperature- it will last for 3-5 days. If keep it in a Beeswax Wrap at room temperature- it will last for 1-3 weeks. Frozen, it can last up to 3 months.
-
How do I refresh stale sourdough?Lightly mist with water and warm it in a 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes to restore crispness and softness.
-
Can I use sourdough bread for other recipes?Yes! Use it for toast, croutons, breadcrumbs, grilled cheese, French toast, bread pudding, or stuffing.
-
What is a sourdough starter?A sourdough starter is a fermented mixture of flour and water containing natural yeast and bacteria, which helps the dough rise.
-
How do I maintain a sourdough starter?Feed it with equal parts flour and water regularly—daily if left at room temperature, or weekly if stored in the fridge.
